Past events

Winning through Wellbeing 2020 hosted by Education Made (29th February 2020) – Members of the HYPE Project team attended the event hosted by Education Made. It was a great opportunity to connect with a variety of services and school teachers/headteachers.
90s Baby Show Live (23rd February 2020) – Members of the HYPE Project team attended the 90s Baby Show live event and advertised the project to all attendees. The 90s Baby Show also kindly shouted us out asking the audience to take part in our research project.


Step Forward LGBT group (18th February 2020) – The HYPE team went back to Step Forward for a second time and presented the project to some of their young people. This was a great opportunity to get project feedback and ideas from young people’s perspective.
Presenting The HYPE Project to HYP and DASH (12th February 2020) – The HYPE Project team presented to the Healthy Young People (HYP) Service and Drugs, Alcohol and Sexual Health Service (DASH). Through this, we made local links to services and are recording a podcast on sexual health with one of Brook’s staff members.


Ealing Skills Training UK Centre (11th February 2020) – Members of the HYPE Project team attended the Ealing branch of Skills Training Uk and presented The HYPE Project to their students.
Maximising Digital Opportunities in Mental Health 0-25 years (28th January 2020) – Members of the HYPE Project team attended the event organised by the Health Innovation Network. This event highlighted Child & Adolescent health needs in the UK and debated where digital platforms similarly to HYPE fit in.


Step Forward coffee morning (24th January 2020) – Members of the HYPE Project team attended a coffee morning at Step Forward and presented The HYPE Project to them and other organisations in attendance. It was a great opportunity to network and hear about the work being done across London to support the health of young people.
ACCESSCare Conference: Broadening the LGBT+ health agenda (3rd September 2019) – Members of The HYPE Project team attended the ACCESSCare Conference at King’s College London. We gained greater insight on ways to be inclusive when working with LGBT+ populations.


University College London Summer school (8th August 2019) – The HYPE team attended the UCL Summer school to share information about HYPE project and the programmes we have available via The Health Inequalities Research Network (HERON)
Healthy London Partnership Children and Young People’s Mental Health Shared Learning Event (3rd July 2019) – The HYPE team attended The Healthy London Partnership Children and Young People’s Mental Health Shared Learning Event. We found many parallels with HYPE aims such as promoting digital mental health. One initiative striving to improve the support given to children and young people’s health and wellbeing is The Children & Young People’s Health Partnership (CYPHP).


West London Research Conference (28th June 2019) – The team attended and presented posters at the West London Research Conference 2019. The theme of the conference was the interface between physical and mental health.
Youth Unity Day (22nd June 2019) – We were delighted to join the Youth Unity Day in Dagenham by having a stall at their community event. It was lovely to see the local community come together to promote health and well-being through fun activities.


UK Domestic Violence & Health Research Forum (12th June 2019) – HYPE team attended the UK Domestic Violence & Health Research Forum. This event highlighted the mental health implications of domestic violence and emphasised the need for better supports.
MQ Conference (6th & 7th February 2019) -The Improving the Health of Young PeoplE (HYPE) Project and The Health Inequalities Research Network (HERON) teams were thrilled to attend and present posters at the Mental Health Science Meeting 2019. Several talks at this conference paralleled with the aims of The HYPE Project.


Galbur Foundation Conference (19th February 2019) – We would like to thank The Galbur Foundation for allowing us to attend their Annual Youth Conference 2019 and have a HYPE stall to share our project with conference attendees.
